In order to reduce the severity of seed predation, usually embryphytes or dicotyledons, or monocotyledons usually make the seeds temporally in short supply to granivores that’s why dispersion of the seed is away from the parent plants. For instance seed masting is crucial example of the plants of how they are capable of temporally control the seed predation hazards.   

For example in the germination of the onion (Alium sepa) seeds, the process of germination is temporally regulated after dispersal. The testa and endosperm of the seedling temporally grows from the single cotyledon as the primary root structures develops into the soil and the gains nutrients from the growing endosperm and finally protective sheaths formed around the seedling at the time of development of leaves in order to perform the photosynthesis.
