You have been invited by a large global health foundation to advise them on how to spend $10 million on a global health program. They want the program to address today’s most important global health concern. How would you advise them to spend this money? Please justify your answer using relevant data.

Ans- Although there are numerous global health concerns which need to be looked upon in present time but some of which I feel need immediate attentions are:

1. ANTIBIOTIC RESISTANCE- Several bacterias becoming resistant against antibiotics is a big threat to global health system. This means that bacteria and microorganisms have become resistant to antibiotics and thus to kill them even stronger dose is required and in some cases even the stronger dose have no impact. So there is a need to develop new hybrid antibiotics by mixing two or more types of antibiotics.

2.POLLUTION- Pollution is one of the major concern of today , be it water pollution or air pollution. The poor quality of water and air due to presence of pollutants like particulate matter or harmful gases has increased the cases of respiratory related ailments and cancer.

3. MENTAL WELL BEING- Depression, anxiety, stress are some of the common problems of young generation which needs immediate attention as an individual with healthy mind can only contribute to growth and development of society.

4. Modern day diseases such as cancer, heart diseases, STDs, like AIDS, obesity, etc which mostly occur due to unhealthy lifestyle also need special attention. Awareness campaigns must be organised to reduce their occurrence.
