You have been invited by a large global health foundation to advise them on how to spend $10 million on a global health program. They want the program to address today’s most important global health concern. How would you advise them to spend this money? Please justify your answer using relevant data. ( the money is only for poor low developed countries)

The developing countries are facing health concerns in the present world.They are least advantaged people in all spheres of human development.The health concerns are

• Lack of drinking water supply:Around 1.7 million people face lack of pure and wholesome water in the developing world.
• Air pollution : it is a serious health issue.The air quality index released by WHO,tells that more than 10 cities in 15 polluted cities in the world are located in India.It should be an immediate health priority.
• Emerging of new communicable diseases:Arising of new communicable diseases mainly viral infections are health crisis eg:Nipah virus outbreak in Kerala,India which kills more than 75% of the infected including health care professionals.
• Global warming and climate change : Developing countries are the most severe victims of climate changes such as Bangladesh,Maldives,Afghanistan etc.The developed countries are most emitter of green house gases but the effects of the GHG are more on the developing poor countries.
• Road traffic accidents :Increased incidence of road accidents is a health emergency.Young people lose lives in road accidents.

These are the one of the pressing health issues of the developing world.It must be immediate priority of the political institutions to tackle these issues.In using financial resources,my immediate priority is to make available pure and safe drinking water supply.Above said issues must require immediate attention.
