Answer #1

7: Insulin and Glucagon hormone are secreted by Islet cells in pancreas.They are both secreted in response to blood sugar level.Insulin is normally secreted by the Beta cells of pancreas.

8: Glucose is stored in liver as "Glycogen"

Animals(including human)store some glucose in the cells so that it is available for quick shot of energy.Excess glucose is stored in the liver as the large compound called glycogen.

The consequences of blood sugar level; *Untreated, low blood sugar can be very dangerous.It can result in the seizure,loss of consciousness or death,hyperglycemia and Hypoglycemia in type 2 diabetics.

* Having high blood sugar can cause serious health problems such as vision problem,heart stroke, kidney failure and nerves problem...

10: "Glucagon"works to counter-balance the action of Insulin.About 4 to 6 hours after we eat,the Glucose level in your body decrease,triggering your pancreas to produce glucagon.This hormone signals your liver and muscle cells to change the stored glucagon back into glucose.

11:Glucagon helps turn the glycogen into glucose

The consequences in term of glucose blood level when glycogen is broken down are as follows;

* when the body needs extra fuel,It Breaks down the glycogen stored in the liver back into the glucose units that cell can use.This can lead to very low blood glucose level during periods of fasting.The muscles and organs need a certain level of glucose in blood to work properly.Hence this leads to major health problems such as hypoglycemia and swollen belly because of enlarged liver...

    Insulin and glucagon release from the pancreas is a vital part of the negative feedback loop that regulates blood glucose levels. Let's review how insulin and glucagon release change in response to plasma glucose levels and how that helps keep plasma glucose constant. Drag the labels onto the figure to create a flow chart of how insulin and glucagon release change in different circumstances to keep blood glucose within a normal range.
