Since y = f(2), f is positive or negative accordingly as y is positive or negative.

From the graph, see that y is positive when x lies on the interval (-0,-6) , and y is negative when x lies on the interval (-6,00) .

So,

a. f is positive on (-0,-6) .

  f is negative on (-6,00) .

Since the slope of the line is negative, the function f is decreasing at every point of its domain.

b. Increasing: \phi (empty set).

Decreasing: (-2, 0) .

c. From the graph, see that y=-4 when x=2.

So, f(2)=-4.

The required point on the graph is (2-4).

d. Again, from the graph, see that when x=-4, we have y = -1.

So, f(-4)=-1.

The required point on the graph is (-4,-1).
