The "Three Jewels of Buddhism are:
The Buddha:
The first Jewel "The Buddha" not only refers to the historical Buddha- The founder of Buddhism, but also those teachers who have attained enlightenment and awakening, even it refers to ourselves who have either attained the enlightenment or are in the process of it. Thus, Buddha refers to the enlightened and the awakened one.
The Dharma
Next Jewel or the step that is to be followed is "Dharma" that are actions and behaviors that are in accordance to the enlightened and awakened state. These actions could be in accordance to the personal awakening from the veil of ignorance, or could be according to the principles and values of Buddhism, or both. Thus, Dharma includes principles and values of Buddhism, moral values and virtues, and individual qualities that enables one to live and act according to the Jewel of " The Buddha".
The Sangha
The Sangha means community. This community helps to learn and teach, to seek and grow in understanding of the self and others, to work in accordance of dharma. It helps the individuals in their conscious evolving of Buddha, to share their knowledge, to seek knowledge, and to have a blissful communion with each other.
