Ideally the calculation for non-conformities is done using the DPMO value. This means for every sigma value there is a corresponding DPMO value that mentions the possible number of defects per million. We can use this value in the current number of outputs in order to determine the non-conforming parts. These may not be exactly accurate but it will be close. For example, 3 sigma process will have possible non-conformities close to 66811 units. These values can be obtained from the sigma chart.
