You can use GIS in disaster management in the following ways -

Using ERDAS engine, you can map the areas with highest seismic events, volcanic events, floods and tsunamis and then you can make a proper approach to solve the problem in a particular region using those maps. (HAZARD ZONE MAPPING)

GIS helps you in assessment of any disaster, damage caused by it which is useful for post disaster measurements.

It can model disaster risks also.

Example - many countries prepare their maps. for example - India has prepared its risk vulnerability map to map disaster risk in the region.

you can use GIS in business operations in the following ways

Here, you can identify a region with maximum population density using GIS maps and can install your shops there since demand will be more here.

Using commuters map, or traffic map, you can find out the best way to be followed for business works in every place

You can also draw a map of land use to know what type of demands are there.

Example - traffic flow maps are largely used for the business works to explore new paths for business spread.
