Ans A a more efficient shuttle system is used in heart cells compared to the shuttle system used in brain cells.

Brain cells have glycerol 3 phosphate shuttle which involves the loss of 1 ATP per NADH molecule formed as result of glycolysis.

Whereas heart cells have mala aspartate shuttle, so the total yield of ATP per glucose molecule is more here.
