1. Identical twins look different because of the epigenetic factors. Gene expression is controlled by epigenetic factors such as methylation or acetylation of histones or while governing gene expressions, which would be either amplifying a particular gene effect or lowering it. Initially, the identical twins look indistinguishable, but as they begin to get older, there were differences in the expressions of the genes, which made them look different.

2. Epigenetic mechanisms would be regulating the activity of genes, which are involved in the processes of development. Some of the mechanisms include post translational modifications that take place in thr histones, which alter the accessibility to DNA, resulting in differences in the patterns of gene expression. There have been many evidences about the importance of epigenetic modifications, one of those are development of mood disorders and it’s vulnerabi.
