Can someone please help me select a data set containing between roughly 40 and 60 pieces of real quantitative data from a single variable? or give me an example of such data size Thanks

Following are some of the options in different software’s:

1. In MATLAB, first define your variable X and enter the data items in if population is finite.

Then use sample command

Sample(n, X)

Here give n of your choice.

1. In MSEXCEL one can use randbetween command

Randbetween(sample size, bottom, top)

Here from your real world quantitative data use minimum and maximum for bottom and top.

1. In MSEXCEL one can also draw a random sample from U(0,1)
2. In MINITAB, use calc – Random data – sample from columns.

Here one can save the data of variable X in a column and draw a sample it.
