Ques-1: Describe where the spinal artery is found? List what imaging plane you believe would give the?
Answer:
The spinal arteries are found “posterolaterally in fornt of the vertebral column and consist of two segmental arteries such as specifically come up from dorsal surface of the aorta.
Imaging plane of the spinal artery is in “off midline with respect to spinous process” “transverse i.e. axial plane orientation” as spinal arteries are located in a discontinous longitudinal system (radiculopial). Imaging can be done after spinal injection followed by MRI or CT to examine the spinal artery
Three longitudinal arteries supply blood to spinal cord. The anterior portion of spinal cord receives blood supply through a single anterior “spinal artery” that supplies two thirds of spinal cord. The posterior portion of spinal cord is supplied by” a pair of posterior spinal arteries” that supply the remaining one third of the spinal cord. Thus, spinal cord receives an uninterrupted blood supply throughout its length.
