mass of baseball = 0.15 kg

velocity of baseball = 50 m/s

As the system is at rest before throwing.

Before momentum = 0

Before momentum = After momentum

0 = mass of pitcher × recoil velocity + mass of baseball × velocity of baseball

0 = 80 × recoil velocity + 0.15 × 50

recoil velocity = -0.09375 m/s

-ve sign shows opposite direction.
