Carbon atoms of the acetyl CoA are oxidized to CO2, these CO2 are released in step 3 and step 4 when Isocitrate is converted to alpha-ketoglutarate and when alpha-ketoglutarate is converted to succinyl CoA, both these steps requires NAD+, for citric acid cycle to start oxaloacetate is required so the answers are Oxaloacetate, NAD+
