Answer #1

Answer : Yes

Q = 8.99 x 10-8

Ksp of PbSO4 = 1.6 x 10^-8

If Q>Ksp . precipitate will form

Pb(CH3COO)2 concentration in the mixture = 15.0 x 4.99 x 10-4 / (15 + 25) = 1.87 x 10-4 M

Na2SO4 concentration in the mixture = 25 x 7.69 x 10-4 / (15 + 25 ) = 4.81 x 10-4 M

solid formed is PbSO4

Q = [Pb2+][SO42-]

Q = (1.87 x 10-4)(4.81 x 10-4)

Q = 8.99 x 10-8

As reaction quotient Q>Ksp, precipitate will form

NOTE- you please upload next problem separately. Questions that are posted on the boards all differ in length and complexity. They often include subparts- like a, b, c, d, i, ii. In order to make the best use of your valuable answering time, please follow the following protocol for questions with many subparts:

  • more than 1 question: answer the first question
    • Unless a student explicitly mentions a question to answer- for instance, “answer the third question”. In this case, the question requested should be the one answered.
