What are the Genetic techniques used to detect cancer?

• Genetic testing cannot identify cancer. But it will detect the cause for the cancer at molcular level. The techniques used to detect cancer at molecular level are as follows. They are
• Fluroscent in-situ hybridisation
• Allele specific Polymerase chain reaction
• Real time PCR
• Tumour DNA sequencing
• Targeted drug delivery
• Sanger di deoxy sequencing
• Pyrosequencing

New technique in Cancer detection

• Microarrays, Real time PCR and mi RNA s are the tecniques currently used to detect cancer.
• In ovarian cancer , tumor based Gene expression micro array data is widey accepted.
• Microarray shows intertumoral variations between the same histological tumors.
• It also differentiates leukemia and oncogenetic T cell leukemis.
• Prognosis in breat carcinoma can also be detected by uing these micro array profiling.
• It i a new method for detecting tumors in sott tissue tumors.
• It is currently a developing method which needs some minor alterations to be more effective.
