There are various factors that affect the performance of the supply chain systems. The factors like human resource availability, availability of raw material, cost and value of components, capital resources, manufacturing facility and transportation facility availability largely affect the performance of the supply chain systems. Moreover, the factors like price of the product, number and performance of vendors and suppliers, the weather conditions, government subsidies and rules & regulations affect the performance of the supply chain systems to a great extent.

For example, whenever you shop online, then whatever you would purchase it would be delivered to you within 2 to 5 days, i.e. the minimum possible time. Now, how this has become possible. This is all due to the high performance of the supply chain, that comes from the availability of raw material, human resource, manufacturing facility, transportation at the right time and at the right place.
