Answer #1

Uber should have taken a confrontational approach in the face of proposed D.C. legislation. CEO of the company claimed to cripple their business in D.C. A chain of the legislative session continued over the fact that Uber has violated the disclosure and safety measures in D.C. However, the company still stood on its stance.

The DC legislation would force Uber and other companies to comply with individual requirements like using a wheelchair inside the vehicle. Uber agreed with that. Hence, Uber needs to take stricter legal actions to establish their vehicle rights in cities.

Though, later Uber won the case in D.C against all taxi unions. Despite some little changes in favor of customers and drivers, the company was legalized in D.C

Yes, regulators in Barbados propose regulation similar to D.C. Reasons are as follows:

• To control the digital dispatch companies when necessary for safety for customers

• To handle digital dispatch to ensure the safety of drivers

• To order digital dispatch companies to create space for using a wheelchair inside the vehicle
