Yes, they have the right to do so. This is because the employer is paying the employee to work with the best of their capabilities and performance. Engaging in other activities can lead to conflict of interest or lack of efficiency and underperformance. Hence, since the employer is paying the full-time employee for their work, they have the right to restrict their employees to engage in a side hustle to make sure that they have the best work out of their employee.
