Blood pressure in the veins is much lower than the arteries. This is because arteries receive direct blood supply from the heart. Also the contractile capacity of veins is lower as compared to arteries. Veins also have thinner tunica media as compared to arteries. These features are responsible for veins to be low blood pressure vessels.

Answer second) The statement is TRUE.

Blood generally flows from an area of high pressure to low pressure. Among three major vessels of the circulatory system (arteries, capillary and veins), arteries have highest blood pressure followed by capillary and then veins. Hence, blood from arteries flows in to capillaries and from capillaries blood flows directly in to veins. Therefore, this statement is correct.

Answer third) The statement is FALSE

Veins contain one way valve which ensure flow of blood in only one direction. In arteries as well blood flows in a single direction, however, arteries do not have any valve for this. As heart directly pump blood in to the arteries, there is no requirement of valve to ensure blood flow direction (but in arteries as well, blood flows in one direction.) Hence, the statement is incorrect.
