Answer : The correct option is E (each new DNA molecule has half the DNA from the old one)

Explanation : Semiconservative mode of DNA replication was proved by Meselson and Stahl using a density gradient centrifugation method. This is the common mode in which most of the known cells DNA will be replicated. The other two types of DNA repplication includes conservative and Dispersive mode of replication.

It is called semi conservative replication because, when DNA replication occurs both the strands functions as templates for the DNA polymerase producing two copies of DNA molecules. These two molecules contains one old strand and another bewly synthesized strand.
