Answer #1

1. complementary is the answer.

The nitrogenous bases in the DNA point inward on the ladder and form pairs with bases on the other side. Each base pair is formed from two complementary nucleotides ( purine with pyramidine) bound togetherbby hydrogen bonds. The base pairs in DNA are adenine wih thmine and cytosine with guanine.

2. semi- conservative method is the right answer

Each of the two strands in double-stranded DNA acts as template to poduce two new strands. Repliction relies on complementary base pairing, that is the principle explained by chargaff's rules: adenine(A) always bonds with thymine(T) and cytosine (C) always bonds with guanine(G).

Question 1 1 pts Why is it important for DNA to have complementary base pairing? O Complementary base pairing allows base pairs to be packed in the most energetically favorable arrangement inside of the double helix structure. O Complementary base pairing will pair a purine with a purine, which are a similar width, thus they are able to hold the sugar-phosphate backbone an equal distance apart along the DNA molecule o Complementary base pairing is only important for maintaining the...
