Question

The following diagram shows a basic structure of energy distribution. In the thermoelectric plant, a three-phase generator feeds an elevator transformer which has an output of 230kVrms in each of its phases. The relation that is had in this transformer is 1:60. The transformer acts as a balanced three-phase source which supplies two parallel three-phase networks represented by the high-voltage lines. These high-voltage lines have a resistance per line of Rw = 10Ω and are connected to a step-down transformer which represents a balanced load. The step-down transformer features a 15600Vrms output, which eventually reaches a single-phase local distribution transformer that reduces the voltage to 120Vrms. Determine the following:
1. Determine the voltage produced by the three-phase generator. (10 points)
2. If at any given moment the total load in one of the three-phase networks consumes
a power of S = 190kV A with a power factor of 0.9, determine the power 1
Average loss in the 6 threads of the line resistance. (15 points)
3. Determine the turns ratio of the local distribution transformer. (10 points)
4. Calculate the primary current of the local distribution transformer when the house network consumes a power of P = 25kW. (15 points)
