In the abolition of slavery Louverture has great role. He was a son of an educated slave. Once he was appointed by a slave holder to handle the cattles. During the slave revolution he helped his master to escape from the violation of the slave rebels. Later is joined to the slave movement. He did not support the policy of the slabve leaders to compromise with the European to stop the revolution. On the other hand he collected many slaves and took the policy of guerrilla warfare against slavery.

He had special quality in warfare and with his interference the French National Convention freed all slaves. He was declared as a republican. On the other hand he did not deny the role of the slaves in the growth of economic of a country. Therefore he proposed a disciplined and proper system of slavery. He helped many planters to return to their country and he also helped them to start their plantation and many slaves joined to the work. With his contribution the slaves got their right and they would not be tortured by the planters. Such a positive step helped to establish equality. It also helped to eliminate racial tension.

In his revolution against slavery he did not show any prejudice and discrimination to the Europeans. His only purpose was to establish the rights of the slaves. On the other hand he did not show any kind of hatred to the white slave holders. He helped in the reconciliation between the slaves and the masters. He also helped the slaves to get their rights. For such great contribution he is remembered today. Few slave leaders had such qualities like him.
