Answer #1

Internal fertilization: In this type of fertilization the fusion of gametes takes place inside the female during sexual reproduction.

External fertilization: In this process, fertilization takes place outside the body during sexual reproduction and water acts as a medium for the fertilization.

  • According to the question, the gametes in internal fertilization are not drying out because the male gamete is directly passed into the female body so the gametes are not present outside to dry whereas it can be possible with the external fertilization.
  • The water is not essential for the protection of embryo because the embryo is in the female body whereas the embryo is outside the body in case of external fertilization that needs to be protected.
  • The embryo gets the improved nutrition inside the female body the nutrition is processed by the female and then transferred to the embryo but the survival of the embryo formed after the external fertilization is very difficult.
  • In internal fertilization, there is no need for the medium water for the embryo dispersal it can be useful in external fertilization.

Answer - Improved nutrition for the embryo

Previous Problem List Next (1 point) A bucket of water of mass 20 kg is pulled at constant velocity up to a platform 45 meters above the ground. This takes 8 minutes, during which time 6 kg of water drips out at a steady rate through a hole in the bottom. Find the work needed to raise the bucket to the platform. (Use g = 9.8m/s².)
