Answer #1

given

m=450 g

L=1.8 m

so radius of circle is

r=L sin Θ=1.8sin(25)

as we know,

\small \\\\\text{For equilibrium condtion} \\\\F_x=\frac{mv^2}{r} \\\\T_{AB}sin(\theta)=\frac{mv^2}{1.8sin(25)} \\\\\frac{mg}{cos(\theta)}*sin(\theta)=\frac{mv^2}{1.8sin(25)} \\\\gtan(25)=\frac{v^2}{1.8*sin(25)} \\\\v^2=1.8g*tan(25)sin(25) \\\\v^2=1.8*9.81*tan(25)*sin(25) \\\\v=1.8654 \ m/s

    A tetherball (aka conical pendulum, like the one we showed in class!) is attached to a string and is rotating around in a horizontal circle. The length of the string is 2.000 meters (which is not 2 the radius!!) and it takes 0.8000 seconds for the ball to go around once. Use g = 9.807 m/s . What angle does the string make relative to vertical? Write your answer to 4 sig figs.
