MILITARY-INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX

On January 1961, Dwight D. Eisenhower coined the term Military-Industrial Complex in his career end Presidential speech and warned the nation about the growing influence and power of the military-industrial complex.

Eisenhower emphasised great concerns about the growing influence of what he termed the military-industrial complex. After and during World War II, there emerged a large number of armament industries. The large military establishment and a large arms industry were new in the American. Eisenhower warned the federal government’s collaboration with the alliance of military and industrial leaders. It leads use of power improperly. Eisenhower was mainly concerned about the great influence of military industry over government programmes, policy and budgets. Even they can influence the decisions about war and peace.
