1) 1) Photomorphogenesis is defined as signals that plays an important role in the development of the plant . These are signals from the environment such as gravity , light , temperature etc. For example :- light is very important for the development of leaf , it also induces shoot development and the emergence of the seed , it also results in the promotion of the flowering . It promotes senescence of leaf structures .
Pr and pfr are the two forms of the phytochrome pigment and its activation is based on the intensity and frequency of the light . The intensity and frequency of the light regulates and controls various processes in the plants that is known as photomorphogenesis. Germination of the seedlings , de- etiolation , inhibition of The shoot and stem system , elongation of the petiole system , development of chloroplast in leaves , the expansion of the leaf and the branching of the shoot system . The process is well explained in the diagram.
