Answer #1

Confirmation bias is a phenomenon which confirms a person's existing beliefs and attitudes. For example consider a judge as a supporter of capital punishment. While reading an article about capital punishment he will only search and remember the arguments which supported capital punishment.Confirming to his existing beliefs can ruin the life of many people . Confirmation bias prevents the judge from thinking about other possibilities of punishment. The consequences are horrible if an innocent one proven guilty in a serious case in which he is the judge. These are the results of not applying critical thinking.
