Describe the demographic transition that tends to occur as development takes place and why it occurs.
Ans)- Demographic transition: In poor countries death rate, especially among children are very high (due to the greater incidence of famine, under-nutrition, and disease, as well as difficult condition of sanitation and hygience) as well as Birth rates also high (due to the lack of education or awareness).
The combination of high birth rate and death rate actually serves to keep net population growth rate.
With an increase in living standards, Death rate starts to fall but Birth rate adjust relatively slowly to this transformation in Death rates. This causes population growth rate to initially shoot up. But in the long run with further development, Birth rate begins their downward adjustment and population growth rates fall to a low level once again.
This behaviour (inverse 'U'- shaped population growth) is reffered as demographic transition.
Graph below shows the trend of demographic transition-
Describe the demographic transition that tends to occur as development takes place and why it occurs.
How does the demographic transition that takes place due to medical innovations and urbanization affect the old-age dependency ratio? Explain using the dependency ratio formula and the determinants of population growth
1.What are the three stages of the demographic transition? For each stage describe: a. Is population size increasing or decreasing? b. Is the population growth rate increasing or decreasing? 2.Describe Malthus’ pessimistic model of population. What empirical facts about population in the world led to the break-down of the model?
Describe the environment in which the epidemic malaria takes place.

1. Describe what the survey process for nursing homes is, and why it must occur for nursing homes that participate in Medicare and Medicaid. 2. What is the Life Safety Code (LSC), why is it important, when does an LSC survey take place, and how can a nursing home respond to LSC survey deficiencies?
3. The CO2 asymmetric stretching occurs at 2350 cm1. Calculate the energy needed for the first overtone transition, and describe how the energy would change if anharmonicity is taken into account.

steps that occur at a chemical synapse. Describe in detail all of the steps of an action potential (you can describe this in words only, a drawing with descriptive words or both). Also, describe the difference between absolute and relative refractory periods and discuss when during the action potential each takes place.
1. Which reaction below occurs faster through an SN2 mechanism and why? Draw the transition states of each reaction to explain your answer. »tom, to OH Br b) b) ^ Br OH, ^ o
Complete a concept map of translation, indicate where it takes place, and describe what will happen if the anticodon is not attached to transfer RNA. A)DNA unzips ?transcription of mRNA ? mRNA leaves nucleus ? mRNA binds to ?ribosome ? tRNA brings in amino acid? tRNA anticodon binds to codon on mRNA ? peptide bond binds amino acids to form protein ? transport of the amino acids to the mRNA by tRNA continues until the mRNA translation is completed. This...
For substance A, the entropy of the solid at 98.36 K is 7.36 Cal/molK, at this temperature it takes place the transition from one solid form to another, the transition heat is 284.3 cal/mol. The increase in entropy of the second solid modification is 98.36 K to 158.91 K and is 5.05 Cal/molK; The temperature of 158.91 K is the melting temperature of the solid. The melting heat of the solid is 476 cal/mol. From the melting point to the...
