If the size of tax increases from a small tax to a medium tax and finally to a large tax, then the size of the deadweight loss increases, but the tax revenue first increases(upto the point where tax revenue is maximum on the Laffer curve) then decreases.

On the other hand a decrease in the tax rate, the deadweight loss of the tax decreases.
