Osmosis is a type of diffusion. Osmosis is the movement of solvent particles (water molecules) through a semipermeable membrane from an area of high concentration to an area of low concentration. Temperature is directly proportional to the rate of osmosis. An increase in temperature causes an increase in the rate of osmosis. When temperature increases, the molecules obtain energy and result in the faster movement of molecules through the semipermeable membrane. Hence, the rise in temperature causes an increase in the rate of osmosis
