I find the idea of cannibalism repulsive. But is it a moral issue? Suppose that some small religious section in this country included in their death rituals the eating of a small portion of flesh from the deceased and regarded that as a very important part of their religious practices and an important part of honoring their dead. Should such practices be legally prohibited? Would such practices be morally wrong?

One of the most important facts about almost all the civilized societies that have formal government is that human sacrifice is not accepted for any reason. This would mean that human life and death are regarded as two of the most important events that shouldn’t be mistreated. So, eating human flesh is cannibalism which no rational, moral and civilized human being would do it. It would not only make them cannibals and animals but also would be a disrespect to the person who has died and disgusting to other people in the society. Vandalizing a human body after death is punishable although all the governments allow the religions and cults to have religious freedom without any persecution thus remaining secular states.
