Answer #1

One of the most important disorders that I have come across most of the time from people and media is depression. I have learnt hat depression is caused by excessive stress and lack of ability to cope with the situations thus, one’s helplessness would force one to become frustrated, angry which would lead one to depression. I have also seen in movies that when people experience helplessness and excessive stress, they would get depressed and engage in different negative coping strategies. Secondly, post-traumatic stress disorder or PTSD which is caused by a stressful or dangerous event. I have heard about it from soldiers who return from the war zone, people who have experienced accident and loss of some loved one. The inability to cope with the reality after a shocking event would lead one to experience post traumatic stress disorder. Of course, media is one of the paramount instruments in providing me with this information through news, stories and movies.
