What effect does emotion have on the cognitive processes of perception, attention, learning, memory, and decision making, and on our behavior? What effect do these cognitive processes exert over our emotions?

Perception is the awareness of its object as ‘This’ or ‘That’. It is ‘the consciousness of particular material things present to sense’. Perception involves the process of implicit or automatic assimilation and differentiation along with reproduction of pest percepts through association. Naturally without emotion perception can never be possible.

Again, an idea excites emotion. The idea is made interesting to the students by motivation. Therefore it re,mains preserved in the long term memory and the process of memorization depends on the stimulus that causes emotion. This excitation produces organic sensation and these organic sensations reinforce the emotion. Organic sensations are very important constituents of emotion.

Again, the cognitive process is dependent on emotion. The perception and sensations are the product of emotions and therefore the realization takes place. It is the cognitive process that is reflected through our behavior. One becomes emotional to his beloved and this emotion changes his behavior to the beloved. Bruit such emotion does not appear when he talks with an ordinary persons. With perception he can distinguish the emotional difference.
