In your own words how does water move from roots to shoots? Discuss the three mechanisms.
Transport is done by xylem and phloem
plant absorbs water and minerals from soil through roots and transport it other parts like stem, leaves, flowers etc. It is through two kinds of elements of xylem
Water and minerals enter root hair-->then goes to xylem vessels--->leaves of plants
The food which is prepared by the process of photosynthesis in
the leaves of a plant has to be transported to other parts like
stem, roots, branches etc. Therefore this food is transported to
other parts of the plant through a kind of tubes called
phloem.
1-Water is passively transported into the roots and then into the
xylem.
2-The forces of cohesion and adhesion cause the water molecules to
form a column in the xylem.
3- Water moves from the xylem into the mesophyll cells, evaporates
from their surfaces and leaves the plant by diffusion through the
stomata.

Please help me I do not understand. Thank you! In your own words first, discuss three causes for the Cambrian explosion. Then address this question: Multicellularity evolved right before the Cambrian explosion; how do you think multicellularity enabled the Cambrian explosion (base your response on our discussion regarding the evolution of multicellularity).

Please help me I do not understand. Thank you! Kin selection was used to explain the evolution of eusociality. Now we know that in some eusocial species, including honeybees, queens mate multiple times, i.e., polyandry. In your own words, how might polyandry weaken the kin selection explanation for the evolution of eusociality?
Please help me understand how to start this lab. I do not understand the wording. Thank you so much! :) Create a buffer solution such that the pH=pKa, by adding half the amount of 1.00 M NaOH (prepared from the 6M NaOH provided in your kit) needed to reach the endpoint of 10 mL of vinegar. This can be performed by titrating a 15.0 mL aliquot of vinegar with 1.00 M NaOH Record the endpoint volume of NaOH Add half...
how does iodometry work; along with redox chemistry? can you please explain in your own words? Im trying to understand the entire process. thank you!
Please if you could help me understand how to do this. Thank you! RLC example A dc source is connected to a series RLC circuit by a switch that closes at t = 0 as shown in Figure 4.21. a. A plant cell was placed into water that have Ys = 0 MPa. The plant cell’s Ys = -0.8 MPa and Yp = +0.6 MPa. Discuss where water will move and how the cell’s Ys and Yp will change with the movement of water. At equilibrium, what would happen if you add salt to the water? Explain. b. How does water move from roots to shoots? Discuss the three mechanisms.
