Three basic theories of religion exists
· Functionalism: This perspective explores the functions of the society. It is related to the value and the significance of the individual work. This perspective provides spiritualty, emotional intelligence and control over emotion and interaction among social beings.
Example: A religion or society exists by the individual role and the group role. It is important perspective for existing society.
Flaw: Sometimes it can be seen the inequity and inequality among different groups of society regarding function or individual role. Religion, cast and political discrimination can be seen.
· Conflict Theory: This theory was driven by Karl Marx and this is based on the society power and dominance.
Example: Conflict arises when something cannot be agreed by different groups of people. This approach highlights the possible problems of the society which should be resolved for society modification.
Flaw: Conflict always creates negative effects. Excessive conflict can cause argument, aggression and war among different groups.
· Symbolic Internationalism: This is related to symbols and the interactions I a society.
Example: Society is built with communication and interaction. This perspective is very important for a society to be existed.
Flaw: Each and every group of people feels sometimes difficult to understand the symbols.
Ø Witchcraft Belief: this might be understood like believe in magical world or event.
This is something which is under the spirituality, magical thinking .All these things are subjective belief or belief of a particular group. Conflict theory can be described based on this because; conflict can be raised by disagree another thought. Conflict theory is relevant and can be applied for the witchcraft belief.
