If the pattern of RFLP from the crime scene matches with the RFLP of any of the suspect, this proves that , that particular suspect was at the crime scene. In the given figure the RFLP pattern after gel electrophoresis from the crime scene matches with the RFLP pattern of that of suspect 2, while for suspect 1 and 3, the RFLP pattern is quite different than that obtained from the crime scene. So, it can be said that suspect2 was at the crime scene.
