Conflict Theory
Conflict theory which was driven by Karl Marx reveals that the society is related to perceptual conflict based on limited resource of the society. Conflict theory reveals that society is dependent on power and people domination. Those who have more power , have more control over society resources. This theory is more focused on economic, social and political era.
This theory is being used for describing a huge area of society which is related with war , poverty, economical discrimination, revolution , violence , inequality etc.
Assumption of this theory
· Competition: Competition is existed in the society as the result of having power, money, wealth etc.
· Revolution: Outcome of the conflicting situation in society is a revolution. Transforming the power from one group to another group is a conflicting event for two groups.
· Structural inequality: Inequality can be seen everywhere in case of education, power, wealth , opportunity etc.
· War: This can be created by excessive conflict between groups in the society.
Five relevance of the conflict theory in social change
1. Conflict might be much easier to way to deal a situation which is hidden. In Africa, it is easy to deal with the tribal group and the general category mainly understands the language of rule.
2. Conflict help to highlight the concern of a society enduring hurdles which are barrier of social change. To solve those hurdles, conflicting situation must be arrived.
3. Conflict helps people to see the bigger and actual picture of the society.
4. Whenever conflicting situation arrives, People became aware and plan for the future steps.
5. More conflicting situation , more people solve it to modify the society.
