Say you want to run a similar experiment on a group of people to determine the effect of exercise on heart rate. Explain two factors that you would need to control for in your experiment, and why.

After a person donates blood, it is recommended that they do not engage in vigorous exercise for 24 hours. Why? What effects would be felt if they did exercise?

  • We will take 2 factors such as blood pressure and blood PH as the control. Because when the heart rate will be increased the pressure on the artery wall will be increased so that the blood pressure will be increased so that in our test we can see the blood pressure with refference to a normal condition. Other one is the PH as the blood PH is changed when we exercise more as the co2 is expelled out so fast when we do excercise the amount of respiration increses which produces a lot of co2 inside. Then the co2 need to go outside as it will combine with the h2o to form the carbonic acid and the blood PH will decrese so it will cause issues. We would test for the Ph and Blood pressure to reach a conclusion that what amount of excercise is healthy and not harmful to our body as the blood pressure increases the temperature also increases so that higher temperature is also harmful to our body. we can do this in different age group separately to know what amount of excercise is beneficial or harmful.
  • After donating blood the amount of fluid decreases little bit in our body so that we may feel faint while doing excercise due to less availablity of oxygen in the body due to less RBC count. Also the The punture done while taking blood may ooze out the blood while doing exercise.We are recommended to take much fluid in 24 hours as less fluid will cause the PH balance system of the body to malfunction also.
  • The further exploration in the experiment would be to see the effect of higher heart rate upon the respiration and net energy loss of the body. Here on the basis of excercise. it will be on the basis of heat loss of the body so that we can take the control as a normal person who is not working out and we will compare with the person doing excercise and we will measure the heat gained or lost during excercise by watching the changes in body temperature at different set of excercise or at different set of time frames. Simultaneously we can measure the heart rate on the same set of work or the time frame. We can compare and conclude the relationship between heart rate during excercise and the heat energy lost from the body. As both are proportional to the time and intensity of work. We can do it also in different age groups to find out the energy lost from the body at different age groups at different heart rate due to same set of excercise or the time frame. By this we can do excercise as per the requirement of the body that how much calorie we want to lose at what time interval or at what amount of excercise.
