The traditional role of the Trade unions in the collective bargaining

a. The objective of collective bargaining is to conclude the collective agreement with the trade union. In the collective bargaining process, the trade union is recognized and the employer is always obligated to disclose the information to trade unions for facilitating the bargaining process. If we talk about the trade unions they always look for the interest of their members and also recognize the advantage of working in the partnerships with employers. This is the reason why the successful business is good for the union and also its members. Through trade unions, the employees negotiate contracts with their employers to determine terms of employment such as the benefits, hours, job, leave, pay, policies, and many other ways to make sure that they can make the work balance.

b. Industrial relation handles the complicated relationship between the employers and the employees of the organization. This division can cause several issues such as strikes and contract negotiation problems, which require the intervention of the labor and trade unions. This is one the biggest challenge in industrial relation and with the proper balance between the employees and chain of command, this can be resolved. Industrial relations increased the growth in the number of unofficial and official strikes and which causes many problems for the organizations.

c. The HR department has two main primary functions. First of all the major function of HR is to prevent the employees from the disputes and also resolving the problems of the management. Secondly, another major function of the Hr is that they assist in enforcing and creating the policies that are consistent and fair for everyone in the organization.

To maintain the positive employee relations organization must treat the employees as the stakeholders in the organization rather than paid labor. It is the role of HR to encourage those to the management and also make sure to check the employee’s feedback so that the employees will think that they are valuable for the company and they are considered in decision making.
