Stress has always been seen to be harmful and rather dangerous to human’s physical and psychological health. Despite this popular opinion, arguments have been raised in recent times confirming how helpful stress can be in certain situations. Explain how helpful stress can be to a person especially a university student. Your answer should illustrate your understanding of various scenarios where stress has more positive impacts than negative.

We are solely focusing on the harmful effects of stress and is indicated that it is bad in an absolute sense. A certain amount of stress is always good for everyone, but when it exceeds the level, it becomes bad.

• Stress can be treated as a survival mechanism. Like our ancestors, who hunted and gathered in the wild were attacked by dangerous beings. But chemicals were pumped into the body so that they could fight back for their survival. It is known as the stress response. Like that, a student who has a project or a test to attend would have stress, and to survive he would do as much as he could.
• Research states that individuals who have short-termed stress would perform more than individuals who were not as stressed.
• Students who have a healthy stress level would increase their brain's openness to learning something new.
• A student who is having stress before a testwould schedule the lessons he/she should cover before attending it. Also, they would be always motivated to stick on with the plan.
