-it is a loss of function mutation

-It resulted in destruction of a start codon

Explanation: The mutation that occurs is point mutation which involves substitution of a single base. This mutation leads to amorph i.e. loss of function. This loss of fuction is caused due to change in the translation initiation codon i.e. start codon by underdoing single nucleotide substitution in the start codon.. There is substitution of adenine (A) by cytosine (C). This is transversion base substitution because adenine (A) is a purine base which is substituted by a pyrimidine base i.e. cytosine (C).
