Complex mix of these factors results in limits access to care, makes finding solutions more difficult, and intensifies problems for rural communities everywhere.

  • Very few adults have post secondary education
  • Under the age 65 there are more uninsured residents
  • High rates of mortality among the rural population
  • Rural residents have to travel a long distance to get the health care services including emergency care
