Air mode of transporation is the method of transporating men and material by Air. On the other hand, Ocean mode of transporation, Men and materials travel or move by water.

In air mode of transporation,Airplanes or air frieght are used to transport men and materials while ships like cargo ships are used to transport men and materials by ocean.

Ocean freight is mostly preferred mode of transport for the transporation of high volume and heavy cargo such as minerals, metals, ores, steel coils, etc. This is impossible by air mode of transporation.

Air mode of transporation is one of the fastest way to transport. Many industries which requires materials in just in time chooses this option because it takes hours to transport.

Reliable mode for valuable items-

Transport of items which are valuable and rare like billion dollar painting, diamond etc can be transport by air without fear of theft. The arrival and departure is also reliable.

security-

In air mode of transporation, there are high security level with guards, technology to scan items transported. This helps to prevent any kind of man made risk.

This mode of transporation is very acceptable if unites are heavy and in many numbers. for example A single, ultra-large container ship can carry +/-20,000 twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) .

This mode is less costly as compared to air mode for large quantities. for example ocean shipping is billed by container—a full standard container (20’ x 40’) is charged a flat rate. For large, heavy shipments, shipping via ocean is often much less expensive.

Extensive coverage around the world-

Ocean mode covers and links many cities and ports all around the world. if time is not the matter but cost and coverage is then this mode is very beneficial.
