Power is the ability to prevent action and make things happen according to one’s perspective. It provides an ability to influence others. Organizations are composed of individuals that possess a lesser or greater degree of power. Power tends to provide a sense of direction towards the organizational goals. Power is considered an important attribute in a leader because managing people in an organization in order to reach a common goal requires planning, organizing, directing, and controlling, and if the leader makes use of power in the right way this process can be done in a systematic and easier way. The leader can make use of the types of power such as legitimate power, reward power, coercive power, expert power, referent power and get the employees to do what needs to be done and what should be done well. Leaders who understand the dynamics of power and apply the power in the current circumstances are able to influence the followers as they get inspired to become like him/her and choose to work with such leaders. This gives an advantage to the leader to empower the followers, get the best out of them, and complete the work properly which gives more chance of success of the project. Therefore, power is the ultimate attribute a leader needs to promote organizational development. With the help of power, leaders can be able to prevent action and make things going based on one's perspective. It also provides an ability to influence others. Leaders exert power so to help individuals and teams to achieve their organizational goals by developing themselves. Power can influence others so this would be a good way to achieve greater performance by the followers. This way, superiors too can be able to make important decisions in an organization. In basic terms, leaders need power so to influence and develop people in an organization.

It is true that the government has come up with stimulus packages over $3 trillion to deliver direct cash to people in their accounts. Besides, the government did its efforts to organize resources to fight against COVID-19 pandemic and other institutions such as Fed also get involved to minimize the impact of COVID-19 pandemic upon the economy. But, these initiatives are not enough to showcase that government has put forward a good or enough leadership skills. It is due to the reason that when COVID-19 broke out in the country of China and it was Dec. 2019, then no country including USA took it precious and brushed aside as a joke. It showed the negligent behavior of the government at its extreme and it led to the lapse of precious 3 months of preparation, but nothing happened. It costed USA a huge number of deaths that could be prevented id preventive measures could be taken since January 2020. Even in the month of March, 2020, Mr. Trump was visiting India to woo Indian audience whose relatives live in the USA so that he could garner some support during the election 2020. It is another example of negligence that cost too much to the people of the USA. It showed that the government did not do what it should do in the leadership and it made the government to be short on it.
