Suppose that a particular course is taught by six different instructors, simply named A, B, C, D, E, and F. Billy is planning on taking this course from one of these six instructors. He will select one and only one instructor among A – F. Suppose the likelihood of taking a course from A – F for Billy is .45, .25, .12, .05, .1, and .03, respectively. What is the probability that Billy will take a course from instructor A or C given that instructors B and D have full classes when he registers, which are unavailable to Billy? Determine your answer and explain your thought process.

Answer #1

instructors B and D have full classes means Billy can choose from A,C,E,F

Old Probability New Probability(old probaility / total)
A 0.45 0.6429
C 0.12 0.1714
E 0.1 0.1429
F 0.03 0.0429

probability that Billy will take a course from instructor A or C = 0.6429 + 0.1714

= 0.8143

Please let me know in case of any doubt.

Thanks in advance!

The Department of Mathematics at the University of Kazoo decided to test this claim. The students grades were then...

please give answer in a,b,c,d format and give calculation clearly. 1.5.25 Suppose two brothers named Mario and Luigi like to compete by playing a certain video game. Mario thinks he is better at this game than Luigi and sets out to prove it by keeping track of who wins. After playing the game 30 times, Mario won 18 of them (or 60%). Mario then declares that this proves he is obviously the better player. Luigi, who just finished Chapter 1...

python 3 question Project Description Electronic gradebooks are used by instructors to store grades on individual assignments and to calculate students’ overall grades. Perhaps your instructor uses gradebook software to keep track of your grades. Some instructors like to calculate grades based on what is sometimes called a “total points” system. This is the simplest way to calculate grades. A student’s grade is the sum of the points earned on all assignments divided by the sum of the points available...

Help C++ Write a string class. To avoid conflicts with other similarly named classes, we will call our version MyString. This object is designed to make working with sequences of characters a little more convenient and less error-prone than handling raw c-strings, (although it will be implemented as a c-string behind the scenes). The MyString class will handle constructing strings, reading/printing, and accessing characters. In addition, the MyString object will have the ability to make a full deep-copy of itself...
