Mitochondria is the major site of energy production in the cell. It is the site of oxidative phosphorylation. It contains the electron transport chain embedded in the inner mitochondrial membrane.
All types of biomolecules have to be ultimately metabolized by the mitochondrial components to produce ATP.
1. Carbohydrates:
Glycolysis in cytoplasm
Transition reaction, TCA cycle, and ETC: Mitochondria

2. Fatty acids: Beta oxidation of fatty acids occurs in the mitochondrial matrix that produces Acetyl CoA.
Acetyl CoA enters the TCA cycle.

3. Proteins: Proteins are hydrolyzed to produce amino acids. Amino acids are deaminated to produce keto-acids. These keto-acids are converted to intermediates of glycolysis or TCA cycle.
Ex: Alanine -----> Pyruvate
Glutamate -------> Alpha-KG
Ultimately, these intermediates also have to be metabolized in the mitochondria

4. Nucleotides contain pentose-sugar. These sugars also have to be metabolized by mitochondria.

So, all types of biomolecules have to be ultimately metabolized in the mitochondria to produce ATP by oxidative phosphorylation.
