This is the right answer because when the mother is Rh negative, they do not have Rh antigen. But if the baby is Rh positive, this means that mother’s blood is not compatible with the blood of the baby. During this, a small amount of blood from baby can move into the bloodstream of mother and hence the mother tends to form antibodies against it. During the first-time pregnancy, it does not have any harmful impact. However, if the second baby Rh positive, in this case the mother’s blood has already antibodies for the same and if the blood of the baby crosses the placenta and mix with the blood of the mother, it will raise antibodies and hence lead to Type II hypersensitivity that tends to attach the RBC of the baby. Due to this, it can cause hemolytic anemia in the baby that destroys the RBC of the baby and it can create a condition of lack of oxygen in the baby.
