(a) Moment of inertia of pulley = 1/2 *M*R*R

M is the Mass of the pulley

R is the radius of pulley

= 0.5 * 0.4 * 0.15 * 0.15 = 0.0045  kilogram-metre square.

(b) The tension on an object is equal to the mass of the object x gravitational force plus/minus the mass x acceleration.

here ; since the body is accelerating upwards the sign of acceleration is negative

tension on m1 = (0.3 * 10 ) - 3 = 0 N

tension on m2 = (0.6 * 10) - 3 = 3 N
